COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College indoor men's track and field team will begin competition in the two-day Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at Franklin & Marshall's Schnader Field House starting on Saturday morning.
Last Indoor Championships, the Bears reset their program record once again in team points accumulated with 178 points as a team to record its sixth runner-up finish in the Championship meet. Ursinus was nearly a clear 82 points over third place McDaniel and battled Johns Hopkins back and forth all of that Sunday for the top spot.
The Bears earned 57 points to place second in the indoor poll and garnered one of the nine first-place votes. Johns Hopkins edged the Bears for the top spot with 64 points behind earning the remaining eight first-place votes.
Ursinus has a trio of individuals with the top-seed in their respective events and 20 within the top-five. The Bears are loaded up once again on the sprints as they hold the top two seeds in the 200 meter dash, three of the top five in the 400 meter dash, and two of the top five seeds entering the 60 meter dash prelims.
