Women's Golf Takes Sixth at Centennial Championships

WAYNESBORO, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's golf team closed out its 2025 season by finishing sixth at the Centennial Conference Championship on Sunday afternoon.
 
 
Four Bears competed at the Waynesboro Country Club, a par-72 course that stretches 5,607 yards. Ursinus finished with a team score of 461. Gettysburg won the team title with a score of 333, followed by Marymount (357) in second. Franklin & Marshall (381) placed third, with McDaniel College (392) and Dickinson College (443) rounding out the top five.
 
 
Sophomore Sophia Cooper led the Bears' lineup with a top-20 finish in her Centennial Championship debut. She carded a 98 in the second round to place 16th overall, tallying three pars and shooting 49 on both the front and back nine.
 
 
Junior Payton Fritz improved by three strokes from her first round, posting a 110 to finish 25th overall. She shot 53 on the front nine and 57 on the back, recording three bogeys during her round.

 
Senior Elliot Schott concluded the tournament with a two-day total of 232, after shooting a 112 on Saturday and a 120 on Sunday. Her final round was highlighted by a par on the par-4 11th hole, and she closed the back nine with a 61.
