LIMERICK, Pa. – The Ursinus women's golf team placed fourth in its second quad meet of the season against Kean University, Muhlenberg College and Stockton University on Sunday afternoon at Turtle Creek Golf Club.
Four Bears competed at Turtle Creek Golf Club, a par-72 course measuring 5,131 yards. Ursinus posted a team score of 432 to finish fourth, while Kean won the meet with a total of 356. Stockton finished second with a 383, and Muhlenberg placed third at 425.
Junior
Sophia Cooper led the Bears lineup, finishing eighth overall with a 96. Her score marked an 11-stroke improvement from Friday and was highlighted by three pars. Cooper shot a 50 on the front nine before recording pars on the par-4 14th and par-5 18th holes to card a 46 on the back nine.
Senior
Payton Fritz posted a 110 to finish 15th overall, improving by four strokes from Friday. She recorded two pars on the front nine, converting on the par-3 third and par-4 seventh holes to shoot a 56. Fritz added a par on the par-5 18th along with two bogeys to finish with a 54 on the back nine.
Senior
Lucy Bamford recorded a collegiate-low 112 to place 16th overall. She tallied three bogeys and a par to shoot a 53 on the front nine, then finished with a 59 on the back nine, including a par on the par-5 18th.
Junior
McKenzi Thompson rounded out the lineup with a 114 to place 18th. She recorded consecutive bogeys on the par-4 10th and par-3 11th holes before adding a par on the 18th to finish the back nine with a 57.
Ursinus returns to action Thursday, April 9, when it hosts a quad meet with Dickinson College, Eastern University and Stockton University at Turtle Creek Golf Club. The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
