Women's Lacrosse Earns Three All-Centennial Selections

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Three members of the Ursinus College women's lacrosse team were named to the All-Centennial Conference team, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Julia McCann garnered first team honors, while classmate Maeve Leonzi and sophomore Jaime Michaud each received second team All-Centennial accolades.  Senior defender Andrea Hook represented the Bears on the All-Sportsmanship team.

McCann, a second-team honoree last season and first-team member in 2023, started all 18 games for the Bears this season. She tallied 29 points on 24 goals and five assists and led the team with 85 draw controls. She scored in 13 games and surpassed the 100-career goal mark in the Bears' victory over Swarthmore on April 14. McCann recorded eight games with two or more goals and finishes an impressive career as the program's all-time leader in draw controls with 314.

Leonzi earned her second career All-Centennial selection after receiving second-team honors in 2022. She led the team, ranked ninth in the Centennial Conference, and recorded a career-high 44 goals this season. The Allentown, Pennsylvania, native started all 18 games at attack and tallied 15 games with two or more goals, including a career-best six goals against Moravian. Leonzi notched 10 straight games with two or more goals from March 12 through April 19 and concludes her standout career ranked top-10 in program history in goals (157, 7th) and points (185, 9th).

Michaud, who also earned second-team All-Centennial honors last season, posted career highs in goals (30), assists (5), points (35) and draw controls (56). A midfielder from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Michaud ranked second on the team in both goals and draw controls. She recorded 11 multi-goal games, including eight straight from March 15 through April 16. Michaud netted a career-best four goals against Washington College on April 2 and recorded hat tricks against Dickinson, No. 3 Gettysburg, and Swarthmore.

The Bears concluded the season with an 7-11 overall record and reached the Centennial Conference playoffs for the second time in the last three seasons.
