COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Ursinus men's swimming team pulled off a crucial conference victory, edging out Washington College 107-96.
The victory improved the Bears to 5-6 on the season, and 2-3 in the conference. Meanwhile, Washington fell to 3-8 overall and 1-6 in the conference action.
The Bears got started with a second-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay, as a team of sophomore

Francesco D'Avella, sophomore
Quinn Grosvenor, and first-year
Jack Campbell finished in 1:39.09.
First-year
Alexander Nicolai came through with the Bears' first win of the meet, winning the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:03.93. It was one of two individual wins for Nicolai, as he took victory in the 500-yard freestyle as well, with a time of 5:02.36. Senior
David McCauley earned his first win of the meet in the 200-yard freestyle, coming in with a time of 1:47.52. It was one of two individual wins for McCauley on his senior day, also winning the 100-yard freestyle in 48.56.
Junior
Jack Giuliana was another double-winner, crucial to the Bears' success. Giuliana won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.16, before taking victory in the 100-yard butterfly (52.78). The Bears earned critical points in the 400-yard IM, as Travers (4:34.48) and first-year
Brady May (4:40.97) took second and third. Later, D'Avella took 2nd in the 100-yard backstroke, with a time of 54.72.
A huge race in the 100 yard breaststroke helped the Bears seal victory, as D'Avella (59.13) and sophomore
Evan Wagner (1:03.68) took second and third.
The team finished the meet on a high note, with a team of McCauley, Travers, Nicolai, and Giuliana winning the 400 Freestyle Relay in 3:14.45.
Ursinus finishes the regular season with the win, and now will work to prepare for Centennial Conference Championships, beginning Thursday February 19th in Lancaster, Pennsylvania at Franklin & Marshall College.
