OBERLIN, Ohio – The Ursinus Men's Lacrosse team traveled to Ohio to take on Oberlin College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
Sophomore
Derek Cooper got the scoring started at the 7:11-mark of the first quarter to give the Bears an initial 1-0 lead. However, the Bears went on a goalless drought of over 19 minutes which allowed Oberlin to score five straight goals in the second quarter to go up 5-1. Sophomore
Cole Mogensen broke the scoreless drought with a goal at the 3:42-mark of the second quarter that sent it to be 6-2 at halftime. Senior
Chris Bryant made it a 6-3 game with 3:42 left in the third quarter, but the Yeoman strung together a three-goal run early in the fourth quarter that made it 9-3 with 10:05 left in regulation. The Bears made a late charge with four straight goals before ultimately running out of time. Senior
Lars Homan scored the first three goals before Bryant added another tally with 2:59 left in regulation.
The Yeomen held a 45-38 shot advantage for the game and a 26-18 advantage in shots on goal. Oberlin held a 42-30 advantage in ground balls and a sizable 15-5 edge in faceoff wins. Bears sophomore goalkeeper
Colin Daroch matched his career-high of 17 saves while Yeomen goalkeeper Noah Grieshaber made 11 saves in the full 60 minutes. Homan registered a game-high four points for the Bears behind three goals and one assist.
The Bears return to action on Friday, February 27
th as they will travel to face DeSales at 7:00 p.m.
