BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – Sophomore Mitchell Davis and senior Kaelin Ryan secured All-American status at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships held at the Crossplex in Birmingham on Friday afternoon.
 
 
 
Davis made it 3-for-3 in All-American status in the pole vault dating back to his debut appearance at last season's NCAA Indoor Championships behind his finest showing yet. Davis finished national runner-up in a valiant performance after topping his own school record of 5.18 meters. He went toe-to-toe with the National Champion Collin Kao of UW-Oshkosh, who held the top seed going into the Championships in his Division III debut after splitting his first four collegiate seasons at Illinois and Purdue. Davis entered in at 4.68 meters and cleared the bar on his second attempt. He needed just one attempt to get through 4.83 meters and his second attempt to get past 4.93 meters. Davis matched his previous record of 5.03 meters on his first attempt before becoming just one of five to clear the bar at 5.08 meters. Davis flawlessly passed the 5.13-meter mark on his first attempt which left him and Kao at 5.18 meters for the National Title. Davis wowed the crowd by passing the 5.18-meter mark on his first attempt while Kao passed to the next level. The battle ended in the next level as Davis went 0-for-3 at 5.23 meters and Kao bested it on his second attempt. Kao ended up reaching 5.33 meters before going 0-for-3 going for the meet record at 5.53 meters.
 
 
Ryan secured Second Team honors in the 60-meter hurdles earlier in the day during her NCAA Championship debut. She completed a tremendous indoor campaign by finishing 13th in the prelims on a time of 8.79 which was just shy of her best time of 8.74.
