SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Ursinus softball team was defeated in a Centennial Conference doubleheader by Swarthmore on Tuesday afternoon.
In game one, the Garnet scored two runs in the bottom of the second to take the initial 2-0 lead before senior
Kayla Carr hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth to cut the lead down to 2-1. However, the Garnet pulled away with one run in the fourth, four in the fifth, and two in the sixth to end the game at 9-1. In game two, the Garnet once again gained their first lead of the game at 2-0 which came in the first inning this time. They added a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second and the Bears lone run of the game was in the top of the fourth when junior
Leah Bonsignore drew a bases loaded walk that made it 3-1.
Carr had one of the two Bears hits in game one with her home run and senior
Christa Andrusiewicz had hits in each game. Sophomore
Reagan Robinson went 2-for-3 at the plate in game two.
The Bears return to action on Saturday, April 11th as they will host Dickinson for a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. for senior day.
