Ursinus Hall of Fame
Gitt was a two-sport athlete at Ursinus playing both field hockey and lacrosse. Playing under Boyd for field hockey, Gitt was named a Mitchell & Ness All-American Field Hockey selection in 1981, a year she also spent as the captain of the team. The accolade came after earning PAIAW First Team honors in the same season. Along with her success in field hockey, Gitt was an integral part of the Ursinus Women's Lacrosse program as she helped guide them to an appearance in the 1981 USWLA National Championship Game against Maryland.
Gitt won the Ursinus Athletics Linda McIntyre Award in 1980, an award handed out to a sophomore woman who, during her freshman and sophomore years, demonstrates initiative in financing her education, proficiency and perseverance in intercollegiate athletics and a cooperative and unselfish attitude in women's sports. Gitt most recently qualified for the 2022 USA Masters Over 55 team which competed at the World Cup Tournament in Cape Town, South Africa this past October.
